Frankincense Oil: The King of All Essential Oils?

 

Jordan: Do you love essential oils? Well, today on Ancient Medicine I’m going to share with you about the essential oil you can’t live without, and it’s called frankincense. I’m Jordan Rubin, CEO of draxe.com, where we believe that food is medicine. We’ve all heard of frankincense, right? Think wise men, baby Jesus, burning incense, which is really frankincense, but I bet you didn’t realize how versatile and important frankincense is. Bottom line, folks, if you’re just watching this, I think you need to already go ahead and share this, get people on this broadcast, because I believe many of the challenges you deal with every day could be remedied by frankincense. And I know for me, I wouldn’t want to live without it. Let’s get started. What is frankincense? It’s the resin of the Boswellia carterii, or sacra tree. Boswellia is a resin, so not necessarily like a syrup, but resin goopy stuff that they find on trees, primarily in the Middle East.

 

Somalia is a place where it grows. It’s also grown in Jordan, in Egypt, and it was talked about quite a bit in the texts of the Middle East, mentioned dozens of times in the Bible. Sometimes referred to as olibanum, incense, and definitely frankincense, it is known as the king of the oils. If you search “essential oils,” frankincense will undoubtedly come up, and for good reason. Why would you use this beautiful golden resin in the form of essential oil? I’m glad you asked. Frankincense oil has a myriad of health benefits. Combats negative emotions and stress. This can be accomplished by pouring some drops of frankincense oil in your hand, breathing in. You can just breathe in right out of the bottle. You can also diffuse it in a diffuser, commonly available at health food stores or better sort of body type stores. A diffuser helps you breathe in, inhale the benefits of frankincense all day long. I even diffuse frankincense at night while I sleep.

 

It’s a powerful emotional booster, stress reducer. Antitumor properties. Frankincense, with its various compounds, including alpha-pinene, is being studied consistently for its ability to fight cancer. We’ve seen in vitro and animal studies attesting to that. Frankincense oil should be part of a cancer-fighting protocol along with working with your doctor. It’s a really powerful promoter and supporter of the immune system. And speaking of which, supports immunity and dental health. Frankincense oil is great added to your toothpaste. What I do is I will use an organic or natural toothpaste, sometimes I’ll just use virgin coconut oil, and I will add essential oils to it such as frankincense. I also do something called oil pulling or use a mouthwash, adding a drop of frankincense to that. Absolutely amazing, great for immunity and dental health. Heightens spiritual awareness. If you are praying or meditating, breathing in frankincense has been known and shown to benefit your experience. Promotes anti-aging. I’ve heard and I can soon attest that frankincense is great applied directly to wrinkles or age spots.

This is a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. That’s right, folks. Stress-relieving bath. Take salts, take clay, or just water and pour three to six drops of frankincense oil in that bath to inhale and absorb through your skin these powerful compounds. Frankincense will help you power your mind. You can do that through inhalation, through oral use, or even topically on your neck, your temples, and other areas.

 

Definitely a great way to boost your brain power. And a stretch mark stopper. Right away, when you notice stretch marks, start applying frankincense, either mixed with another oil . . . coconut, jojoba, almond oil, avocado, etc. Put it right on those stretch marks. Just be consistent, folks. Stretch marks and age spots don’t go away quickly, so be consistent. Do it every day and I think you’ll see great results. Folks, why should you use frankincense every day? Why is this the number one essential oil that you should never be without? Number one, combats negative emotions and stress. Hello, who doesn’t need that? Antitumor properties. One out of 2.5 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. You must have frankincense as part of your arsenal. Immune support and dental health. Swish with it, use it to boost the immune system in your mouth.

 

By the way, I believe dental issues are at an all-time high. Get those fixed. Frankincense can help. Heightens spiritual awareness. If you pray, if you meditate, if you want to get into a deep state of spiritual enlightenment, use frankincense. The Bible talks about burning incense to the Lord, anointing yourself or certain sacred articles were done with frankincense. Anti-aging, age spots, wrinkles, put frankincense right on there.
