Hi everyone welcome to our channel today we will discuss how to get rid of ear discharge. The term ear discharge or Otorrhea denotes the drainage of pus, blood, ear wax or any other fluid from ear. Rupturing of ear drum because of injury, loud noise and music, foreign object penetration, water accumulation because of activities like bathing and swimming, and eczema are some causes of the health condition. Ear discharge, medically known as otorrhea, refers to any fluid that comes from an affected ear.

It is quite common and can affect people of all ages, including infants and small children. Many a times the ear discharges are accompanied with severe pain, rotten smell in the ear and there may be a loss of hearing as well. In some cases the infected or injured area becomes red and swells. Many natural ways and home remedies provide for pain and inflammation alleviation that accompany ear discharge. These measures are also useful when ear discharge has occurred because of some injury. 1. Mustard Oil Mustard oil has anti-fungal and anti-bacterial action and is a great remedy for treating ear discharges. To treat your infected ear with the oil, mix 250 ml of mustard oil with 10 gm Indian gooseberry, 20 gram ginger, 10 gram neem leaves, 3 grams kabila, 3 grams black pepper and 1 gram blue thotha.

Warm the mixture adequately by applying heat to it and then cool to comfortable temperature so that the oil gets lukewarm and does not causes burns. Now put some drops of the mixture in the affected ear. You can do the process 3 or 4 times a day to get relief from the condition in a week. 2. Neem Oil Neem oil is also called as Margosa and can treat a number of infections including ear infections. To treat the affected ear with the miraculous oil, put 3 drops of it in the affected ear by using a dropper. Leave the oil to kill the pathogens for 15 minutes. Later tilt the head side wards so that the fluids flow out of the ear. Do the process 3 times every day. 3. Garlic Garlic has antibiotic properties and is deadly for pathogens.

To treat ear discharge with garlic, crush 3 cloves of garlic and extract its fresh juice. Add 4 drops of the fluid to the infected ear through a dropper. After around 5 minutes, use a blow dryer to blow away the fluids that have accumulated inside the ear. Hold the dryer at approximately 12 inch distance away from head while drying the ear. You can do the process two times every day until you get ample relief. 4. WHITE VINEGAR White vinegar has antibacterial properties that help in expelling out the fluids. It can be clubbed with rubbing alcohol that works as a drying agent to promote evaporation of fluid buildup inside the ear. Mix equal parts of white vinegar and rubbing alcohol Fill this solution in a dropper Lie down with the affected ear facing upward Put 2 to 4 drops into the ear and wait 10 minutes Tilt the ear and allow the drainage Repeat this remedy twice daily to break down the infection and the ear wax 5.

Basil Basil is another good remedy to get relief from an ear infection as well as discharge. It has antibiotic properties that help keep the infection at bay and provide relief from pain. Wash 4 or 5 basil leaves thoroughly and crush them to extract the juice. Heat the juice slightly to make it lukewarm. Use a dropper to put 2 or 3 drops into the affected ear. Repeat twice daily for a few days. 6. Breast Milk Breast milk is another effective Ayurvedic remedy for treating any kind of ear infection and inflammation. Infection of the middle ear is one of the main causes of fluid or pus discharge from the ears. take breast milk and put two or three drops into the ear. It will help to relief from an ear infection. 7. Onion If pus is draining from the ear, an onion is an effective remedy according to Ayurveda.

It is effective in treating infection of the middle ear. Extract the juice of 1 small onion. Heat the juice slightly to make it lukewarm. Put 2 or 3 drops into the ear. Wait 5 minutes, then tilt your head to drain out the fluid. Use this remedy 2 or 3 times a day. 8. WARM COMPRESS Warm compress is one the best ways to reduce the pain and discomfort due to ear discharge. The heat promotes the fluid to dislodge easily and relieves pain. Dip a clean washcloth in hot water and wring out the excess water Place the moist cloth on the ear for 2 to 5 minutes Tilt the head to promote fluid drainage You can also lay by keeping your head on the heating pad wrapped in a towel Do this for few minutes and then repeat 9.

Allow Gravity to Do its Work When it comes to treating ear discharge, it is important to remove all the fluid buildup in the affected ear. The best way to do this is to use gravity. Tilt the side of your head with the affected ear parallel to the ground. Put a clean finger in your ear and try to create a vacuum to help dislodge the fluid.

Use a cotton bud or towel to clean up the discharge. You can also simply lie down on your side with a towel under your ear. 10. STEAM Steam is another effective remedy to dislodge the fluid in the ear. This will enable smooth drainage of the discharge fluid from the ear. Boil 3-4 cups of water until it steams Turn off the heat and add few drops of eucalyptus or any other essential oil to the hot water Place a towel over the head and inhale the steam slowly for 5 to 10 minutes Tilt the head to one side so that the fluid drains out Repeat as and when needed Ear discharge is very common so don’t worry about this because it can be treated with homemade remedies.
