BROOKVILLE, In – Luke Collinsworth, a 6-foot-6, 300-pound tackle from Brookville and East Central High School has committed to play football for the University of Cincinnati.

Collinsworth tweeted out the news late Friday afternoon.

Collinsworth’s other offers included Purdue, Ball State, Indiana and Kansas. He also has some basketball skills as he’s the school’s all-time leading rebounder and scored his 1,000th point as Hoosiers football coach Tom Allen was in the gym watching.

However, one Luke likes another as Luke Fickell was able to pull him away from the in-state Hoosier and Boilermakers. In terms of mileage, it’s 39 miles from Brookville to Nippert Stadium compared to 103 to Bloomington and 144 to West Lafayette.

“Yes, that was huge and a big reason why I made this decision!” Collinsworth said.

Fickell has now snared the No. 3 recruit in Indiana for 2021 according to 247sports.com and one of the top tackles for offensive line coach Ron Crook.

“They are both really good coaches and they (UC) are going to be really good,” Collinsworth said.

East Central’s Trojans were 11-1 last season behind the blocking talents of Collinsworth.

“I am extremely happy for Luke and his family,” East Central coach Jake Meiners said. “I have enjoyed watching him progress as a young man and a football player. He is really talented and his best football is still in front of him. He has great size and footwork. UC is getting a bright, hardworking young man. I couldn’t be prouder of him.”

Collinsworth was ranked a four-star recruit by 247Sports.com.
