“They decided to cut out all the toxic people stirring around them to deal with each other man-to-man as brothers,” a senior royal source told The Sun of their so-called peace talks.
Their wives — Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, both 38 — joined in some of the discussions to fix the feud that is long-rumored to be at the heart of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s displeasure of life in the royal family, the source said.
“It has been groundbreaking in terms of saving their bond as brothers and has been totally driven by them,” the source told the UK paper of their private time together.
“Given Harry is now permanently moving away, there was a realization if they didn’t sort things out now, they never would.
“Of course there have been serious differences in opinions but the family warmth is back. And they’re sad they’re going to be so far apart.”
Harry’s decision to quit the royal family has, however, reportedly left him at loggerheads with dad Prince Charles, who the Daily Mail claimed is “massively sad” at his son’s Megxit which left him “floored.”
“It’s fair to say that the past week has brought William and Harry back together but the relationship with Charles and Camilla is far more complicated and complex,” The Sun’s source said.
“There remains a real lack of trust there and it’s going to take some time to resolve.”
