A woman has gone public with the series of unhinged voicemails she allegedly received from a first date who stood her up, lied about his dad being in the hospital, and then had his mom reach out and invite her over for dinner.
Radio host Susan ‘Mason’ Moussette, 40, from Dallas, Texas, played the baffling messages from ‘Brad’ in a series of viral TikTok videos, explaining that she put in a lot of effort getting ready for the dinner date that he skipped out on.
‘I took a nap so that I would be all rested and fresh. I showered. I did my hair. I looked good. And then I sat in a restaurant for a half an hour waiting for him, and he never showed up,’ she said.
‘He then called me two hours later to let me know that his dad was in the hospital. And then he called me after that to tell me that his dad wasn’t actually in the hospital and that he lied. He then proceeded to leave me about five or six additional voicemails.’
Call out: Radio host Susan ‘Mason’ Moussette, 40, from Dallas, Texas, has gone public with the voicemails her date ‘Brad’ allegedly left her after he stood her up on their first date
Rude: She explained in the first clip that they were supposed to go on their first date last Friday, but he never showed up to the restaurant
Wild: According to Mason, he initially claimed his father was in the hospital, and then he admitted that he had lied about why he stood her up
Mason went on to play one of his earlier voicemails in which he had the audacity to chastise her for not promptly returning his calls when he didn’t even bother showing up for their date.
‘It’s been an hour and I haven’t really heard from you, which I don’t think is very cool. I talked to my friends, and they said I should have heard something from you by now,’ he said.
‘I know you are busy with work and everything like that, but I basically spilled my guts to you, you know, was super honest with you, and I just don’t think it’s fair that you’re not calling me back,’ he continued. ‘This is not cool.
‘You know, honestly, I’m starting to rethink things, and I dunno, if I don’t hear from you in the next say 30 minutes, I’m sorry I just don’t think it’s going to work out.’
Brad then called back to apologize, explaining he hasn’t ‘been treated very well over the years’ and just gets ‘really upset sometimes.’
‘You said you were different. I thought you were different. I just get a little upset when I feel like somebody is not being honest with me after I’ve been honest with them,’ he said, insisting he ‘didn’t mean to yell.’
‘That’s not who I am,’ he added. ‘Just give me a call so we can reschedule everything, and once we do, I can explain to you what type of person I am, and how honest I am, and just cool and calm, and all that fun stuff. So I look forward to talking to you and rescheduling another date with you.’
Mason never called him back, which led him to leave her yet another voicemail, this one even angrier than the others. Before playing it, she said it may be her favorite, calling it the ‘pièce de résistance.’
‘Why haven’t you called me back! How could somebody do that to somebody else?’ Brad yelled. ‘I’ve told you that this has happened in the past. You said you weren’t going to do it. You said it happened to you and it happened to me. That’s why we got along so well.
Not over: Mason said he left her about five or six voicemails and proceeded to play them. Brad first chastised her for not promptly returning his calls, and then he called back to apologize
‘I have left several messages spilling my heart to you,’ he continued. ‘All I’m asking for is a call back, and we can go on a date. I can treat you really nice. I really can. I just don’t understand girls like you. I thought you were different.’
After listening to the message again, Mason joked: ‘I am the same as every other girl, frightened for my life.’
At this point, Brad seemed to be aware that she might shame him on social media, considering she has more than 425,000 TikTok followers, so he called her again.
This time, he left a voicemail asking her to refrain from sharing his messages or any of his personal information on TikTok, claiming he would take legal action if she did.
Mason admitted in one of her follow-up videos that she has never minded a bad date because she loves a good story, and for someone in radio, ‘this is comedic gold.’
‘The level of crazy that am immersed in right now with this man who will not stop leaving me voicemails,’ she said. ‘I should be frightened. I should be very scared for my safety, and yet I am also so amused.’
She then gleefully revealed that she got another voicemail that was from Brad’s mother, saying she was going to play it the next day on her radio show on HOT 93.3 in Dallas.
By the time she woke up the next morning, Brad’s mom allegedly left her another voicemail, but she has only shared the first one on TikTok so far.
‘Hi Mason, my name is Patty and I’m Bradley’s mom and I know I should not be calling you right now, that this is none of my business, but I have a habit sometimes of trying to make things right,’ the message started.
Whoops! When she still didn’t respond, he screamed at her again. Brad also threatened to pursue legal action if she shared his voicemails or his personal information on TikTok
Not holding back: Some didn’t agree with her putting him on blast just for followers, but she made it clear that she had no problem using his crazy messages to benefit her career
‘Bradley told me what happened over the weekend and about the date that y’all were supposed to go on. I was so excited for him, excited for you too. I know you are new in Dallas and need to get out and see what the city is all about.’
Patty said she has had a lot of talks with her son about how to treat people, and he knows ‘what he did was not right.’
‘He said, “Mama, I know I shouldn’t have done it.” I want you to know as his mama, I take this very seriously,’ she continued. ‘I told him, “You know, you need to make it right. You know this is not how we treat people.”
‘He knows that, and he’s always been such a good, kind boy,’ she insisted. ‘I just feel like maybe if you would consider giving him another shot, maybe guys could figure this out.’
Patty then invited Mason to come over to her house, so she could ‘see that Bradley is a good boy’ and she ‘raised him right.’
After promising to show her some ‘southern hospitality,’ the mom went on a tangent about how amazing her son’s barbeque sauce is, saying: ‘He should bottle it and sell it, but that’s neither here nor there.’
The message took another turn when Patty started opening up about how her husband didn’t want her to have a job when she was younger.
‘I know you get up early. Bradley told me what you do for a living. I think that’s great,’ she said. ‘I think women should be allowed to work and make their own money.
‘I had a part-time job one time, and Bradley’s father really didn’t want me to work because he said I really didn’t need to and there was enough stuff to do around the house,’ she admitted. ‘But he let me have a part-time job, and I think it’s great that you do what you do.’
For real? Things got even wilder when his mother, Patty, left a message inviting Mason over for dinner, so she could see ‘Bradley is a good boy’ and she ‘raised him right’
Unbelievable: Patty’s lengthy voicemail included tangents about how Brad should sell his homemade barbeque sauce and how her husband ‘let’ her have a part-time job
Terrifying: After playing the messages, Mason was convinced she was ‘gonna get murdered’
Patty suggested they play board games when she came over, and maybe Mason could show her how she does her ‘TikTok stuff.’
She asked Mason to call her back or text, admitting in another tangent that she didn’t understand why the younger generations prefer texting to calling.
She ended the message with a final plea to Mason to come to dinner, so she could see that she raised her son right.
Mason explained that she blocked Brad on TikTok early on, but she is shocked that she hasn’t heard from him because her videos are going viral.
‘I’m gonna get murdered,’ she said. ‘It was a good run, though. Thanks guys.’
Many listeners agreed that she had dodged a bullet because Brad is giving off a lot of ‘red flags.’
‘Girrrrlll, the best thing that man ever did for you is stand you up!’ one person wrote, while another added: ‘You dodged a whole family of crazy.’
Some didn’t agree with her putting him on blast just for followers, but she made it clear that she had no problem using his crazy messages to benefit her career.
As for Brad’s relationship with his mom, there was some concern, with one viewer insisting that they were giving off ‘BATES MOTEL mother and son vibes.’
‘She’s really begging you to take him off her hands!’ someone else commented, while another joked: ‘She’s gonna crochet him a really lovely blanket out your hair.’
