How to practice non-meditation and confusion in everyday life?
Let’s use breathing as an example. You breathe all the time, 24 hours a day; while driving while walking, while talking to others, during a meeting while eating, anytime, just notice your breathing. No need to focus specifically. You do not need to maintain a particular posture. “Hello how are you?” and you watch your breathing, inhalation and exhalation. You can practice this at any time, in all circumstances. As you breathe, you can observe your breathing – inhalation and exhalation. If you are not happy, do not lose your mind in misery. Return to breathing, inhalation and exhalation. When I was young, I had panicked. Sometimes when I panic, I changed my focus to my breathing. Usually, when I panic, my mind was completely engulfed in panic. “Oh, I don’t like this panic. What should I do?” “How to get rid of panic?” This aggravates the panic.
This is what I call “panic.” Instead of being too panicked, I changed my focus to my breathing – inhalation, exhalation, inhalation, exhalation. It helped me a lot. If you feel stressed, be aware of your breathing. If you have problems with your family, you know – disputes, be aware of your breathing – inhalation and exhalation. It really helps. It’s a simple technique, but it helps a lot. Apply this to your daily life. After all, slow, slow you can prolong that observation, this awareness, for form, sound, smell, taste, sensation – with everything. We usually say, “If you see the river, you have not fallen into the river, and you’re not taken away by it. ” If you fell into the river and you are carried by the river, you cannot see it. That is why you can watch thoughts, emotions, everything. Just watch notice. Just like you notice your breathing – it’s the same. Thank you!
