MUMBAI: BEST has been globally appreciated and acknowledged in official bulletin of the International Labour Organisation (ILO), Geneva for its work during Covid-19 pandemic.
Officials in Mumbai complimented the work done by the BEST medical team headed by Dr Anil Kumar Singal.
“It was a teamwork as we worked round the clock to save the frontline workers who were infected by the virus. We have ensured that 2,686 patients have recovered so far of a total 2,833 Covid positive cases among staffers. Some of the drivers and conductors were in hospital for 2-3 months but they fought bravely and are back home-cured,” he said.
The BEST also had enough stocks of Remdesivir injections to be given to patients in emergency situations.
The ILO, since 1919, brings together governments, employers and workers of its members countries, to set labour standards, develop policies and devise programmes promoting decent work for all women and men.
