James Martin was joined by chef Dipna Anand on Saturday Morning today as the ITV presenter took a step back to watch the chef rustle up a samosa chaat. However, the TV chef was forced to walk off the set and fetch a missing ingredient for the guest chef when she made the unexpected request halfway through her appearance in the kitchen.
While preparing the masala for the dish, Dipna explained: “I’m going in with some chopped tomatoes and what I’m going to do is lower the heat.
“I will need some butter – that was your favourite ingredient and my dad’s favourite ingredient.”
“You want me to get you some?” James asked and she replied: “Yes, please. I’m sorry.”
“Can we get some butter please?” James gestured to his crew behind the camera. “Yes, somebody’s going to get some butter.”

“I made you run last time for some more milk,” the guest chef recalled.
“Well, I’ll go get some, do you want to carry on?” James asked before walking off the set to fetch the ingredient.
“Camera one is your camera, off you go,” the TV chef added.
Continuing on with the dish, Dipna said: “Okay so I have added my tomatoes and now it’s time to spice it up.

“I’ve just put this on a lower heat so they lower the heat when you add the spices, the better. It just means you masala won’t start to spit at you.”
“Right my butter is here,” she declared as the TV presenter rejoined his seat on the set.
“Anything you want?” James giggled and Dipna replied: “No, just the butter. That’s all I needed.”
“I know what it feels like to be your dad now,” James remarked after recalling the moment Dipna’s dad stepped into help during the last time she featured on Saturday Morning.

Meanwhile, throughout the demonstration James teased Dipna that she would inadvertently burn his brand new cooking pans.
Dipna remarked: “I’m going to use these great pans here,” and the TV chef exclaimed: “My brand new pans!”
“I have heard, no pressure,” she replied and he warned: “Don’t you burn them!”
Later on, James joked: “Can the director just take an overhead shot of that pan, I’m making sure it’s not burnt.”
“Uh oh,” Dipna remarked. “No, don’t say that,” before James added: “It’s okay.”
The cheeky TV chef continued to tease his guest while Dipna continued to prepare her samosa chaat dish.
“Before your masala starts to spit at you,” Dipna noted and James added: “Before it burns the pan.”
“No, it won’t,” she replied. “I’m not going to burn you pan, I’m not, I promise.”
“You better not burn my pan!” James exclaimed and she teased: “I’ll try not to.”
James Martin’s Saturday Morning continues on Saturday on ITV at 9.30am.
