LUCKNOW: In an article published on its official website, World Health Organisation (WHO) has taken note of Uttar Pradesh government’s justconcluded door-to-door campaign to isolate hidden Covid-19 cases in villages, saying micro planning, house visits, concurrent monitoring and follow-ups are crucial to ensure no one misses access to vaccination and health care services, reports Shailvee Sharda.
In the article, WHO considered details of UP’s campaign in 97,941 villages in 75 districts. It noted that 1,41,610 teams led by 21,242 supervisors were deployed for active case finding exercise spanning five days.
Each team visited houses in villages and remote hamlets to test everyone with symptoms. Those who tested positive were quickly isolated and given a medicine kit. Contacts of those who tested positive were quarantined and tested, it said
