Kanye West's Instagram blocked; he returns to Twitter

Kanye West posted on Twitter for the first time in in two years after being suspended by Meta on Friday.

Elon Musk, who is buying the social media network, praised the action. Ye shared a photo of a 2024 hat. Musk tweeted, "Welcome back, my friend!"

West tweeted in November 2020, after the US election. West shared a picture of himself with Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a second tweet on Friday, accusing him of banning on Instagram.

Meta stated content from West's account was deleted for breaking company regulations and his account was restricted. It didn't say what was problematic or what restrictions were enforced.

West deleted a post that included a screenshot of a text conversation with Sean "Diddy" Combs that was deemed "anti-Jewish"

West was banned from Instagram for 24 hours in March for insulting "Daily Show" host Trevor Noah.

West ignited controversy this week by wearing a "White Lives Matter" shirt and clothing numerous Black models in the same phrase at his Paris fashion presentation.
