You’ll be able to steer clear of certain foods this way. It is recommended that you avoid lying down immediately after eating. After eating, avoid stooping down. Avoid wearing apparel that is too tight. Smoking is a big no-no! Acid reflux can be exacerbated by smoking. Over-the-counter antacids can provide some comfort if you suffer from occasional acid reflux. Patients with severe or chronic acid reflux should consult a physician. An antacid may be necessary to alleviate your symptoms.
